I'm pretty sure that all of you know by now that I will be going on a month long mission trip to Uganda this summer from June 15-July 15. While I want to keep everyone updated on funding for my trip and other details, I also wanted to be able to have a place to share more than just the numbers and technicalities, but the real story of this adventure, straight from me. So here we are, thanks for showing your interest and checking this out :)
Who am I going with?
I will be going with a group called Adventures in Missions (AIM). They are an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship, and emphasizes prayer and relationships among the poor. AIM has 14 bases around the world, and they facilitate missions trips for high school students, college students and adults lasting from a week to over a year.
I will be going with the high school (Ambassador) program, for 14-18 year olds. So far my team has not been assigned any leaders, but there are three other girls so far signed up to go. I haven't met any of them (since we live all over the US), but we have been talking a bit over facebook. They seem great, and I know we will get along :)
Where am I going?
On June 15, I will fly out to Gainesville, GA, for training camp. This time will be spent bonding with my team and getting ready for what lies ahead of us. On June 20, my team and I will fly out of GA to Africa.
The next three weeks will be spent in Busia, Uganda, and I will return home on July 15.
What will I be doing?
In Uganda my team and I will be ministering at a school for orphans; presenting the gospel, providing love and friendship, bible studies, and education. We also will be working with Ugandans who are trying to reach their peers with outreach events, and maybe working with local churches in the bush once a week.

If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask. I will be sure to keep all of you updated as well as sharing what is on my heart. :)
